The study pursues the following objectives: First, to appraise the potential of marketing research as a gauge for a firm's advancement; second, to examine if marketing research contributes to a firm's economic viability; and third, to ascertain the extent of customer satisfaction achievable through marketing research. The research employed a combined descriptive and explanatory design. Data were collected through questionnaires and supplemented by library research. Both primary and secondary data sources were utilized, and data analysis employed the chi-square statistical method at a 5% significance level. The results were presented in frequency tables and percentages. The participants in the study consisted of 67 employees from the Union Bank of Nigeria Benin branch. The central focus of this research was to highlight the significance of marketing research within the Nigerian banking sector. The findings of the study revealed that the disregard for marketing research has precipitated the premature closure of banks in the industry. Moreover, the study demonstrated that marketing research holds the potential to enhance and cultivate the banking sector. In light of these findings, it is recommended that banks should proactively engage in marketing research to foster the growth and development of the banking industry.
Oshireku Vincent Onivefu, Omuya Stephen Onivefu, Adaviriku John Onivefu, Zainab Oyioza Onivefu, Oziofu Blessing Onivefu, Abosede Mary Latinwo Copyright (c) 2024 Oshireku Vincent Onivefu, Omuya Stephen Onivefu, Adaviriku John Onivefu, Zainab Oyioza Onivefu, Oziofu Blessing Onivefu, Abosede Mary Latinwo https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://emaj.pitt.edu/ojs/emaj/article/view/303 Wed, 20 Nov 2024 00:00:00 -0500 Space Economy, Tourism and Logistics https://emaj.pitt.edu/ojs/emaj/article/view/325
The advancements in technology that developed with the Industrial Revolution provided people with the opportunity to explore their surroundings. Especially, the rocket technology developed during World War II paved the way for space exploration. The launching of the first satellites by Russia and the USA in 1957-58 marked the beginning of understanding the unknown and uncertainty of space. With the initiation of space research by Russia and the USA, the magnitude of the space industry has been increasing day by day. In recent times, the space economy is around $240 billion, while space tourism is around $1.5 billion. Space has attracted the interest of both states and private companies. Particularly, after the 2000s, space activities have been commercialized by private companies. In this study, the space economy has been evaluated within the scope of space tourism and space logistics. Qualitative in-depth analysis and quantitative VOSviewer methods have been used together in the study. In recent times, with SpaceX's reusable rocket technology, Falcon 9, a revolution has taken place in transportation and logistics in space. Also, SpaceX's low-cost approach providing access to space at more affordable costs is a significant advantage for future crewed or robotic space missions. The increase in space research and travel to space, the Moon, Mars, and deep space in the future will increase the volume of space tourism and, generally, the space economy, primarily boosting the importance of space logistics as it forms the basis of this process.
Yavuz Toraman Copyright (c) 2024 Yavuz Toraman https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://emaj.pitt.edu/ojs/emaj/article/view/325 Wed, 20 Nov 2024 00:00:00 -0500 University-related Factors influencing Technological Entrepreneurial Intentions of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Students: A Comparative Study of Private and Public Universities https://emaj.pitt.edu/ojs/emaj/article/view/312
This study aims to establish university-related factors that influence the formation of technological entrepreneurial intentions (TEIs) among STEM students in Zambia. The article extends the Ajzen Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) model by including environmental factors that were tested using a comparative study of public and private students, with quantitative data obtained from a sample of 400 STEM students and analyzed using structural equation Modelling (SEM). This paper contributes to emerging literature on TEIs by incorporating environmental variables into the TPB model to explain the formation of STEM students' TEIs. This study provides insights into the significance of pressure from friends, family and other networks and positive perception of technological entrepreneurial activities on the formation of TEIs in students. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to utilize the extended TPB on STEM Students in Zambia. This research also contributes to the existing literature on technopreneurship by comparing the formation of TEIs of STEM students in private and public universities. The findings suggest that attitudes towards entrepreneurship (ATE), subjective norms (SN) and perceived behavioral control (PBC) have a direct impact on TEIs for private university students and ATE and PBC for public university students. University support (US) influences TEIs through (SN) for both private and public university students. Additionally, the university environment affects TEIs through three antecedents (ATE, SN and PBC) for private university students, while teaching methods (TM) show no association with TEIs.
Clement Mwaanga, Edwin Moyo, Kelly Chungu Copyright (c) 2024 Clement Mwaanga, Edwin Moyo, Kelly Chungu https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://emaj.pitt.edu/ojs/emaj/article/view/312 Wed, 20 Nov 2024 00:00:00 -0500 How Big Data Patents Affect Enterprise Data Technology's Impact on Market Value and Profitability https://emaj.pitt.edu/ojs/emaj/article/view/338
This paper explores in detail the impact of enterprise data technology capabilities on market value and profits. Using big data patent statistics closely related to data collection, analysis and application as a measurement standard, the study reveals the positive role of enterprise data technology capabilities in significantly improving market value, especially in the financial and wholesale and retail industries. However, despite the huge potential, most companies still face many challenges in converting this technological advantage into actual profits, and in some cases even have an adverse impact on the profits of industrial enterprises. It is worth noting that industrial internet supplier companies have successfully achieved a double leap in market value and profits with their comprehensive investment in R&D, capital, government subsidies and IT infrastructure. Based on this, the study puts forward a series of suggestions to promote enterprises to strengthen data technology capabilities, increase complementary investments, develop diversified application scenarios and profit models, and further improve data market mechanisms and infrastructure construction to comprehensively promote the effective development and utilization of data. In order to continue to promote the development and utilization of data by various market entities in USA, it is recommended to focus on improving enterprise data technology capabilities, increase complementary investments, develop application scenarios and profit models for data technologies, cultivate professional data service institutions, and promote the construction of data factor market mechanisms and infrastructure.
Shah Mehmood Wagan, Sidra Sidra Copyright (c) 2024 Shah Mehmood Wagan, Sidra Sidra https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://emaj.pitt.edu/ojs/emaj/article/view/338 Wed, 20 Nov 2024 00:00:00 -0500
